November- Honduras 2015

Child with Honduras flag painted on face.As we start of the 2014 holiday season, we hope that you are surrounded by family and friends, and thankful for the many blessings in your life. We realize that holidays can be lonely times for a lot of people, especially missionaries who are separated from their loved ones. It has been on our hearts for several years to be able to come alongside missionaries for one to two months at a time to help them accomplish the work they are doing for the Kingdom.

We are really excited to be taking our first step towards fulfilling this vision by going to Honduras at the end of January. We will spend a month working alongside Kevin and Melissa Goodwin in the small town of Gracias. The Goodwins oversee a network of 30 mountain village churches, helping to support and train local pastors and congregations. They help to plant churches, start Bible studies, and build up the local bodies of believers to do the work of the ministry in their own communities. The Goodwins also run a child rescue center out of their home, taking in orphans and abandoned children and raising them alongside their own children.

As we have been looking for missionaries to partner with, we had one stipulation: they had to share our mission. We wanted to find missionaries who were working to turn lives right side up by turning the world upside down. We wanted to partner with missionaries who also believed in preaching the Gospel, training up believers to do the work of the ministry, and taking care of the widow and the orphan. We are so thankful to have found an amazing couple to work with who share our mission and passion.

Our vision for mission trips for Right Side Up Ministries has always been to build relationships with missionaries to help relieve them of some of their workload. We are so thankful that we will have the opportunity to take care of the children in the rescue center so that the Goodwins and their four children can attend a nationwide missionary conference in another part of the country. We are so excited to see that God has lined up the dates for our trip so that the Goodwins can get the rest and fellowship that they need while also fulfilling our vision for mission trips.

Will you help us support the work that is being done in Honduras? We need to raise $3,500 for this four-week trip. This will cover our airfare to Honduras as well as food, housing, and transportation costs for our time there. Donations can be made online through this website (simply click the Donate button) or by writing a check and mailing it to our PO Box at the bottom of the page. Thank you for helping us spread the Gospel through Right Side Up Ministries! We really appreciate your continued prayers and support. Together we get to serve others in the Name of Jesus!
